My wallpaper's on random, so this is nothing special. I still like it, though.
Add
0,20,40 * * * * DISPLAY=:0 /usr/bin/xfdesktop -reload >/dev/null 2>&1
to crontab and set up the wallpapers it should choose from in settings >> display >> edit/add list to get an every-20-minutes random. Google crontab if you want some other settings. You can add another one of these to crontab if you have two monitors and want a different, random wallpaper for each one.
This is if you're using xfce, though. Obviously.
